Too many parameters

Daniel "Danny" T. Cat is the happiest, optimistic orange tabby cat and the main protagonist of the film. He has green eyes and normally wears a brown trousers, a white shirt, a green bow tie, a black vest and a straw hat. Danny has also been waiting to be a famous Hollywood star, and is thrilled when he arrives in Hollywood.

Plot[]

According to the opening narration, Danny is the "peasant" of the story, who had none of the luxuries of "the princess", but he had a dream, which was to become a Hollywood star, which is why he leaves his friends in his homeland, Kokomo, Indiana, one of which hugs him in tears, and others who fill his arms with useless junk, and he leaves on a bus to Hollywood.

As soon as he arrives in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, as the sun rises, he sings his arrival song and helps a penguin named Pudge (but neither introduces himself) load a block of ice onto a hand truck, and both dance until Danny gets onto a taxi, unaware that a girl cat named Sawyer is running to catch a ride. He then pays the driver (a horse) and puts up the rest of the title for "Gone with the Wind" and dances onto an imaginary globe. Next, although he gets caught by a guard, he manages to elude him by sneaking atop a cable car. Jumping and dancing on top of this car causes it to shake, and Sawyer, from earlier, spills her coffee. He also burns the feather on her hat as he hits the cable car's antenna. Getting off the car, he inadvertently knocks her into the fountain before skedaddling into the office building of Farley Wink.

He introduces himself to the other animals named Tillie (a hippopotamus), Cranston (a goat), Frances (a fish) and T.W. (a tortoise). With help from Tillie with getting neat, he goes into the office to see Farley Wink and sign papers and initial a little piece of paper. He then is assigned Sawyer as a partner, much to the latter's dismay, and obliviously continues to bother her.

As they are entering Mammoth Studios, Danny takes no notice to all of the miserable animals surrounding them. He then meets Pudge again on set and they finally introduce themselves. Much to Danny's dismay, his only line in the script is "Meow". He believes that since the film is a musical, they should sing and dance. He then practices saying the line imitating famous actors and draws the line at where he imitates Edward G. Robinson. On the set, he accidentally humiliates Darla when he tries turning his line into a singing part and dances. Darla reveals her true colors when she thrashes around and screams about how much she hates animals. She then calls on, or more likely, "summons" her giant butler, Max, who punishes Danny by asking him menacingly, "How does the kitty cat go?" After answering unsure and scared, Max plunges him into the floor which gives him a black eye.

After the filming, Cranston, Tillie, and Frances start imitating and mocking Danny, which he overhears and gets sad about. Tillie feels guilty about it and wonders if one of them should talk to him. Sawyer volunteers. Danny is oblivious and has no clue why the people hated his performance so much. Sawyer tells him directly that the people are not interested in them. No matter how hard they try, they will never reach the top. Danny explains to Sawyer if everyone follows their dreams to do the things they love. Feeling helpless, she tells him that it's more complicated than that. Admitting that Kokomo was more simple, Sawyer tells him if he didn’t do that, then none of this would've happened.

After she leaves, Pudge comes to Danny to cheer him up by giving him a piece of doughnut. Still feeling down, Pudge asks him how he does his dancing, trying it out for himself but falling in the process. Danny starts to teach him and as they dance, he stops feeling sad until he hears distant music. Intrigued, Danny and Pudge leave the studio to find the music being played in a wooden caravan. Watching by the window by climbing up a tree, they realize that the musician is Woolie the Mammoth. Woolie swishes himself around, making Pudge and Danny lose their grip and fling themselves into Woolie's home. Woolie, notices them and compliments Danny about the "jolly good show" referring to the incident with Darla earlier. He then asks them to stay for tea.

Danny is happy with Woolie's music and asks him if he plays music for a movie but Woolie says no. The people had only ever wanted to use him as a mammoth logo at every beginning of a film. Danny, being appalled by this, says that it's a waste of talent to be used just for that, and Woolie agrees but explains in a helpless manner that Hollywood is only ever looking for talented people to star in movies, saying "The spotlight will never be on fellows like you and me." Woolie suggests giving up on dreams since it will never work, as Sawyer and the gang all had. Now completely worn down as they live in restriction. Danny has an idea on how to remind the people about their dreams and talks to Woolie and Pudge about it.

Outside the studio, animals were gathered but are slowly walking away as the people only needed a few "important" animals. Danny shows up and starts to sing 'Animal Jam'. One by one, the animals start to dance, lighting up their hopes and giving into their dreams once again. Curious, Sawyer finds herself in the middle of the dance 'party', and she begins to join in and dance with Danny. The two dance really close and romantically but Sawyer snaps out of it before they kiss. Persistent, Danny tells her that he will get L.B. Mammoth to come for the audition while trying to persuade her mind to dance but fails. Pudge asks him if it's possible for the animals to have an audition and Danny tells him that it is, unaware that Darla was hiding right next to them and scheming a plan to invite him.

At Darla's Palace, Darla apologizes to Danny for the incident with Max while biting off the heads of the animal crackers as she expresses her 'guilt'. Asking if there is something she can do to repay him all while consistently getting Danny's name wrong. Naively, Danny asks her if he and all the other animals can have an audition for L.B. Mammoth and she agrees for them to be in her movie, letting them use anything they need on Friday at 3 pm when L.B. Mammoth has his press conference. When Danny leaves Darla's house, she reveals her true plan to destroy the animals' dreams permanently.

When that day arrives, Danny and the other animals began their practice for L.B. Mammoth while Pudge is doing the lighting and cameras. He even convinces Sawyer to get into the ark too, saying they have "a little angel" looking out for them. Darla sabotages their attempt of a better life though, and makes the animals look bad in front of L.B., and Danny is ultimately responsible for firing all the animals out of the studio.

Darla admits her evil deed in front of Danny and all of the animals when he begs for her help, and drives off laughing. The animals all feel hurt that he fell for such an obvious trap and left their lives worse off than before. Feeling betrayed, Sawyer and all of his friends tell him to go home and then leave ashamed. Down In the dumps, Danny decides to give up on his dream and go back to Kokomo.

While taking the bus home, the driver talks to him about the incident and how the animals are not going to ever reach the top. Danny then watches all of the animals suffering and Pudge walking down the dark street looking for Sawyer. Feeling one last beacon of hope to make the animals become famous, he orders the driver to stop and runs back to Pudge. There, they plan for the animals to come back by sneaking into the studio and making the premiere invitation cards to send to Sawyer, Woolie, Cranston, T.W, Frances and Tillie.

On that night when Danny and Pudge are planning to start their performance after the movie, Max with his super-hearing skills hear them and goes to capture Danny. In an intense cat and mouse chase on top of the theatre's roof, Danny ends up getting the upper hand when Max gets stuck on a Darla Balloon, flying away from Hollywood completely. After the movie finishes, Danny introduces to a human audience a performance from an animal cast pretending to be from Darla. About to introduce the cast in question, he finds them not there. Feeling tearful and sad, Danny starts crying over his words while Darla ridicules him and the audience laughs. Suddenly, he looks down and sees Sawyer comforting him. Some of his friends still wanted to leave, but Tillie held onto them behind stage. Cranston, Frances, and T.W. try to free themselves from her grip as they think this is a waste of time. Danny and Sawyer are shocked, but she just pulled him away. They then all go out and perform "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now".

Darla attempts to sabotage their performance once again but fails tremendously, actually making their show miles better than planned. Her temper rises and, with a microphone stuck on her back, rages at Sawyer and Danny that she should have drowned them when she had the chance. The microphone picks up her words and the audience along with L.B. Mammoth has heard about her involvement with the previous incident assumed to be the animals' faults. The audience murmurs in disappointment and disbelief. Darla then tries to save her reputation by pretending to be lovable and friendly towards Danny, but is ultimately dropped down a trap door by Pudge. The crowd goes wild from their amazing performance and Sawyer slyly tells Danny about her mutual attraction and feelings for him. L.B. Mammoth rewards the group and claims they will make history. It then goes to show the group in famous blockbuster movie posters as all of their dreams came true in the end.
